Mild, stable weather is often the easiest time for residential concrete work, which commonly makes spring or fall attractive in many regions. The best date is not determined by a month or one air-temperature range. It is the date when the contractor can prepare the site and control concrete temperature, delivery, placement, finishing, curing, protection, and changing weather for the specific project.
What conditions matter more than the season name?

Can concrete be placed in hot weather?
Yes. Hot-weather concreting is defined by a combination of conditions that can impair fresh or hardened concrete, including high air or concrete temperature, low humidity, wind, and solar radiation. A single thermometer reading does not describe the entire risk.
Ask how the producer and contractor will manage concrete temperature, haul and discharge time, slump loss, authorized adjustments, crew capacity, evaporation, finishing, curing, and testing. Can concrete be placed in cold weather?
Yes, when the project uses appropriate cold-weather production, placement, curing, and protection. Cold conditions slow setting and strength development, and early freezing can damage concrete. The plan may need prepared unfrozen support, suitable delivered-concrete temperature, insulation or enclosure, temperature monitoring, controlled removal of protection, and verified loading criteria.

What if rain is forecast?
